On a spec sheet, “removable battery” reads like a convenience feature. On a distributor’s P&L, it is a margin decision. The difference shows up the first time a unit needs service under warranty.

Why removable beats fixed

With a fixed, internal battery, a failed cell means the whole scooter comes back: a bulky return, a bench teardown, labor hours, and a unit out of service for days. None of that is billable.

A removable battery moves the job from the workbench to the counter. The pack releases, a replacement clicks in, the rider leaves in minutes, and the failed pack travels back through the channel on its own under UN38.3/MSDS rules.

Where the D01 goes further

The D01 is the upgraded model in the range. Beyond the removable battery, its rear wheel and motor are also one-click removable. The two repairs that normally pull a scooter off the floor for the longest, a drive or wheel issue, become quick-release jobs at the counter instead of a teardown or a return to the factory.
